I need a solution

I am looking for assistance in creating an alert that will email several of my colleagues when windows updates are being installed. I am using SCSP 5.2.9 670.

I need to do this for windows servers 2003 & 2008 R2.

Hello,

This nasty item has installed and will not be removed. Name newsnetservice. I have done everything suggested and most files in it's folder are gone. But that one item remains. I read it hijacks my PC but wouldn't have a clue really. Most commonly people say to go to your startup folders and simply delete it from there.

I'm planning a new CSP deployment involving about 50 servers.

They run various applications including Apache http, Apache Tomcat, IIS, SQL Server, Websphere etc.....

These servers support multi-tear applications and as a result not all behind the same firewall.

I am trying to install SCSP agent 5.2.9 on my linux redhat server. But the installation will only be successful if i disable the SElinux.

My question is

- Does SCSP agent support SELinux?

- Can i enabled back SELinux after installation?

If we add %windir%\system32\cmd.exe to the interactive safe applications list, anything run in the cmd prompt context is also allowed as presumably it's inheriting from the safe ps. How can CSP be configured to allow cmd but stop anything running under cmd unless in the white list?

I need to configure my antivirus not to scan the main folders and files BackupExec. I wonder what those folders and files that product standards should add exceptions in my antivirus.

I am hoping Symantec has a product that can help us achive our goal of writing over and confirming data is destroyed on old hard drives the we need to send back to an outside leasing company, without destroying the harddive it's self. We used Killdisk for a little while but we have had some issues and hoping to move to a new solution.

Hello all, I am new to the CSP product coming from an ESM background, but I am searching for where the policies are stored in file format, whether on the CSP Manager or in the SQL DB. I have been searching for these files so that I can view them since the CSP Authoring Tool for the policies seems to have been removed and I understand no longer supported?

I have a policy in place & for the most part its deployment has been successful with a few exceptions, i ran into another exception today. When the IPS is enabled i can stop windows services without issue, i cannot restart or start the stopped services. The service in question is windows time.

Still many persons are running CSP with the SQL Server Express 2005 Edition that comes with it in their production environment, so I thought of a little reminder.

The reason is very simple; SQL Server Express Editions are all limited in size.

Does SCSP have the ability to perform application profiling? We are considering bringing in a new app for our systems and I would like to know if there is wat SCSP can inspect the app to determine what files/dll/ & registry keys it requires access to and then open access based on that inspection. How would i go about doing this if it is possible?

We're having a datacentre move and virtualising everything we can. Some tools and applications simply aren't supported in a virtual environment, but I can't find any evidence either way about CSP. Does the Management server have to remain physical or can I virtualise it?
